The Supper will be held immediately following the 2011 Oxford Go Tournament – at approximately 6.30 on Saturday February 12th 2011. The tournament is being held, as usual, in St Edmund Hall, Oxford, OX1 4AR – check out the bird's eye view map, and the normal streetmap (or its printable version. We expect that the meal will be in a Chinese restaurant in the town centre &ndash SoJo, which is both very good quality, and reasonably priced – GBP 10.00 for dish and rrice/noodles, or GBP 14.75 for a set meal ....
Please book online via the tournament registration page
After the 2007 Oxford Go Tournament, Simon organized a very enjoyable meal for about a dozen Go players. It was hoped that this would be extended, in years to come, to include more players from the Midlands and the South of England. Sadly, less than 3 months after the Oxford Tournament – on Friday 4th May 2007 – Simon died suddenly. Since then we have had this meal to continue what he started.
He is missed by many friends, and Go players. The Supper is intended to be a joyful commemoration of his life, and a chance for us all to meet Go players we normally meet only over the Go board.
The cost will be modest – we will share the cost of a normally priced meal (drinks probably paid individually).
